New York State Governor David A. Paterson has called for a spending freeze of 3.35 percent of the current fiscal year's budget, which goes from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009. This freeze is on top of a $38.8 million cut that the State University of New York as a whole received as a result of the 2008-09 state budget.

Does football come with an ed. cost?

Castleton Spartan, Castleton STate College, ut

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!

Well, no… not really, actually.

Call me a drama geek, hippie, bimbo, or whatever you like (although I really don't think any of those names apply to me), but I kind of always liked the idea of Castleton not needing a football team to define itself.

Responses to last week's letter regarding the BSA picnic

The Racquette, SUNY Potsdam, NY

Hello, I read this week's paper with a very discouraged heart. There is an article linking BSA's name with profanity and indecent music. I'm not at all mad with the article, in fact I think it is very well written. I'm more so concerned with the unfair coverage of this organization.

It's a four-hour drive to get from where Dan Berry used to be to where he is now.

"From Philly," he said. "We were coming up to Syracuse."

He couldn't forget. It was the first of five official visits to schools where he might spend the next four years. A trip with his twin brother Vince and best friend Ken Marfilius in the passenger seats.

MLAX | OFF AND RUNNING: No. 3 Syracuse blazes past Canisius and into NCAA 2nd round with 20-3 rout

The Daily Orange, Syracuse University, NY

3 days ago by Andy McCullough

May 11, 11:49 p.m. -- As far as messages go, it was a blunt one.

But the Syracuse men's lacrosse team needed to make something clear from the get-go against Canisius Sunday in the first round of the NCAA tournament, a 20-3 win for the Orange.

"We just wanted to let them know, right from the start, that they weren't really going to be in the game for real long," said junior attack Kenny Nims, responsible for two goals and three assists in the win.

Letters: Outdated Bird Library no longer capable of meeting students' needs

The Daily Orange, Syracuse University, NY

I was talking to a friend jokingly that architect Ieoh Ming Pei, more commonly know as I.M. Pei, was "the man" because he designs sweet buildings like the Washington Memorial, Mount Vesuvius and the Statue of Liberty.

Just kidding. Architect majors, chill.
