On Tuesday, February 3, a Mr. R. Gabe Ford emailed 896 students "offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a select group of exceptional men" to form a chapter of the Sigma Nu fraternity at Clarkson. According to figures published on Clarkson's website, Ford's message was sent to 33.

CUSA weekly update

This week, CUSA hosted two guest speakers: Director of ARAMARK, Bernie Clary, and Dean Timothy Sugrue of the School of Business. First, Clary addressed the Senate and talked about the new changes. Ross-Brook's menu has been changed, with less popular items taken out and newer choices added.

Sex dolls at the supermarket A 51 year old man was arrested on February 4, 2009 for trespassing and disturbing the peace. George Bartusek was masturbating and simulating sexual acts with plastic blow-up sex dolls in his car in the parking lot of a supermarket.

For the 20th year, Clarkson University served as host to the Adirondack Regional Science Olympiad. This year's Olympiad was sponsored by BOCES, President Collins, Provost Young, Dean of Engineering Goodarz Ahmadi, and Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences Peter Turner.

Pakistan no longer safe for men This is the first incident of its kind. On January 27, a waiter working at a local restaurant in Karachi, Pakistan was abducted and raped for four consecutive days and then thrown near a river in an unconscious state. Karachi police have registered cases against three unidentified women.

ARAMARK going green

"Just because we have green bananas sometimes doesn't mean we're being cheap," said Tom Crueger, executive chef at the Ross-Brooks cafeteria in an interview with Clarkson ECO and The Integrator. Bernie Clary, in charge of ARAMARK on Clarkson's campus, was also there to answer questions, although both made it clear that students provide little constructive feedback for current and future planning; comment cards and surveys are very rarely used.

"Our nation's legal drinking age of 21 is not working as well as the public may think. Its unintended consequences are posing increasing risks to young people. It is time for a serious debate among our elected representatives about whether current public policies are in line with current realities.

Officer initiated a traffic stop and issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for the above charge 2/2/09 9:29 p.m. Passed Red Light Officer observed the above subject pass through a steady red light at the intersection of Elm Street and Park Street.
