Recycling initiative

On Tuesday, October 15 a small group of representatives from the Clarkson staff members, employees, the recycling company, and several environmentally based clubs on campus met to discuss the issue of recycling in the Quad. The residents have not been correctly recycling, but can you blame them? True, each individual should be held personally responsible for how they manage their waste.

Native stories

November is not just a month for Thanksgiving and having huge dinners with lots of delicious food. It is also Native American month, a time to recognize Native Americans and the tributes they have made in history. It is to recognize them, their culture and who they are.

Court limits police

Suppose you're out for the evening and you see someone stagger out of a tavern, get in his car and pull away. If you're a good citizen, you'll immediately call 911 and give police a description of the vehicle, a license plate number and an account of where it was headed.

Power by wind

Wind turbines are an increasingly common structure to help our fight against global breakdown. They are massive, standing 280ft from base to center and another 111ft when a blade is at full peak. They are magnificent displays of today's advanced engineering.

College and money

All of us are keenly aware of the immediate struggles we face because of the current economic downturn. I'm sure many of your families are facing excruciating choices that, even a few years ago, would have been unimaginable. But what may be less appreciated is the long-term impact of this crisis on our economy, on our fiscal situation and on our future.
