Sigma Phi Epsilon, commonly referred to as Sig Ep, is the youngest fraternity at Clarkson, chartered on April 7, 2002. Sigma Phi Epsilon is a national fraternity founded November 1 in Richmond, Virginia, and in fact has grown to become the largest national fraternity with 250 chapters.

Sigma Phi Epsilon is a non-pledging fraternity which, instead, uses a concept known as the Balanced Man Program. Through this program brothers are challenged to uphold the ideals of sound mind and body. The Balanced Man Program is designed to keep brothers active during all of their college years, always striving to increase their understanding of fraternity.

The New York Chi chapter currently has 24 brothers who are involved in various Clarkson organizations. Such involvement includes the Men's Soccer team, Men's Lacrosse, Air Force ROTC, Army ROTC, Men's Club Hockey, the Newman Club, and the clean snowmobile SPEED team. The brothers also participate in all IFC sports, as well as various other intramural league sports.

Sigma Phi Epsilon can be seen doing community service events in the Potsdam area throughout the year. Events include the annual dodge ball tournament, brothers running a soup kitchen every month, executing a 24 hour bike-a-thon annually for the charity of choice, participating in the puck run raising money for the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, as well as many more events that arise throughout the year.

Sigma Phi Epsilon prides itself on upholding its cardinal principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. The alumni connection is impressive as; it isn't uncommon to see alumni brothers visiting for the weekend. The brothers also pride themselves on the "red door" policy that signifies everyone is welcome, and they are greeted with a friendly atmosphere.

Keep an eye out for various posters around campus for more information about any events that Sigma Phi Epsilon is putting on. Sigma Phi Epsilon is always looking for more men that embody the ideals that this fraternity upholds. For more information, contact Andrew LeBeau at lebeauad@clarkson.edu.
