The Golden Knights suffered their first loss at home this season on Friday night in a 5-2 decision against the RPI Engineers. RPI's Bryan Brutlag connected for a power-play goal at 6:49 into the first period with assists going to Brandon Pirri and Paul Kerins.

The second period is when the offense opened up for both the Knights and the Engineers. RPI struck first to take a 2-0 lead early into the second period. Just eight seconds after a power-play ended, Jeff Ross netted a blue line shot at 5:01 with assists going to Kerins and Alex Angers-Goulet. The Knights offense finally came together to net a pair of power play goals 45 seconds apart. Brandon DeFazio then scored on the resulting 5-on-4 power play at 9:42 to tie the game at two a piece. The assist for the goal went to Andrew Himelson. The Knights would not be heard from again for the rest of the game. RPI came back quickly to regain the lead and would not relinquish it.
