Hamilton, NY- After coming off of a 2-0 loss to Cornell the Clarkson University Women's Hockey Team looked to salvage their weekend with a win over Colgate. The Golden Knights started out the game strong and dominated the first 10 minutes of play. With 1:33 left in the first period Genevieve Lavoie scored a goal with an assist from Danielle Boudreau giving the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights scored their second goal with 0:09 remaining in the first period. Dominique Thibault stole the puck from a Colgate defender behind the net and brought the puck out into the slot and lifted a backhand shot into the net giving the Golden Knights a 2-0 lead after the first period of play. Clarkson outshot Colgate 7-2 in the first period.

The first 10 minutes of the second period saw both teams skating hard with action at both ends of the ice. The Golden Knights had a couple of good offensive rushes with several shots on net that were turned aside by Colgate goaltender, Kimberly Sass. The Golden Knights however would add another goal to their lead when Dominique Thibault scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Danielle Skirrow with 1:50 remaining in the second period. Clarkson outshot Colgate 10-9 in the second period of play.

In the third period, Clarkson would extend its 3-0 lead to 4-0 when Juana Baribeau scored a power play goal with assists going to Melissa Waldie and Britney Selina. The goal was scored with 15:43 left in the third period. Colgate was given an offensive opportunity when two penalties were called on the Golden Knights simultaneously. Hailey Wood was called for hooking while Gabrielle Kosziwka was called for holding. Colgate capitalized on the man advantage and scored their lone goal with 4:11 left in the third period. Colgate outshot the Golden Knights 17-13 in the third period with the Golden Knights outshooting Colgate 30-28 for the game. Clarkson was 1-3 on the power play while Colgate was 1-2 on the power play. Clarkson improves to 12-2-1 overall and 6-1-0 in ECAC play while Colgate drops to 2-8-2 overall and 1-3-2 in ECAC play. Clarkson remains in first place in the ECAC standings.
