One main feature of the conference was student presentations. Clarkson students gave four of the eight total presentations and provided five of the poster presentations at the conference. The chapter left the conference with three awards, including first place for Student Chapter Grants, coming away with a $1000 prize and recognition as the best student chapter in the state.
Students were also able to meet with other student chapters across New York. The conference was a success; students were able to meet other students with similar interests as well as network with possible employers. Although the main focuses of the conference were based in water and wastewater technology, professionals from environmental consulting, water resources, and air quality control were also present.
In the upcoming months, NYWEA will be bringing many of the ideas from the conference back to Clarkson's student chapter's activities. The Clarkson chapter will bring host speakers and more low-key activities on campus.
