Early goal unnoticed

The Union Flying Dutchmen did not seem to be fazed and quickly retaliated with their first goal less than 30 seconds after the Knight's point. With the score tied at one with less than a minute of play, hockey fans, including a national audience from the NHL Network, settled in for a heavy offensive game.
Eight additional unanswered goals later, Beca found the back of the net on a power-play making the score 9-2 with teammates Mark Borowiecki and Louke Oakley getting the assists. Six goalies saw playing time, as both teams played all three of their goalies in this unfortunate blowout. Clarkson's starting goalie Paul Karpowich was pulled in the first period after posting 6 saves and 5 goals scored against. Richie LaVeau took over through the end of the second period, stopping 18 and letting in 3. Freshman third-stringer Cody Rosen saw his first collegiate play after he started the third period and finished the game saving 13 shots and giving up 3 goals.
In the Knight's defense, the men played against Union down six players from injuries and illness. With only 16 skaters, Clarkson was faced with the difficulty of fatigue, inexperience, and unfamiliarity with line mates. Hopefully with an improvement in health and the elimination of the extraneous hardships the team has seemed to face, Clarkson can put this large deficit loss behind them for good.
