Tamblyn's goal was his sixth of the year and it came in the second period when the RPI Engineers were leading Clarkson 2-0. For the second game in a row, sophomores Nick Tremblay and Mark Borowiecki added assists to contribute to Tamblyn's goal. Although it was the only CU tally of the game, Clarkson's defense remained firm which made for a competitive and hard fought hockey game.
At the helm of the Knight's defense, sophomore goalie Paul Karpowich appeared to shake off his lack luster start the night before and made some spectacular saves. Karpowich played the full 60 minutes and ended with 33 saves on 35 shots. The Knights were again understaffed due to health issues and were again out-shot by their opponent by twice the number of shots.
Although Clarkson was unable to capitalize on any of their 7 power-play opportunities on Saturday night, the men will look to use the home ice advantage to gain a couple wins this upcoming weekend in Cheel Arena. They will host Princeton University on Friday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Quinnipiac University on a Saturday afternoon start, February 13 at 4:00 p.m..
